Diabetic Club

Have you heard about Clinica Esperanza’s Diabetic Program?

Let me tell you about this wonderful program. In 2017 God placed, in Ms. Peggy and Dr. Schorling’s hearts, the seed to create a program for the people with diabetes who attended our community clinic in Sandy Bay. We started with 70 patients and as of today, we have 742 patients attending this program from all over Roatan.

Every month patients come to their consultation to receive their medications (thanks to the generosity of our donors), educational talks on healthy eating, advice on proper exercises and foot care. Daily we are receiving more requests to join our program. We are devoted to improving the quality of life for our patients with diabetes. We educate them on how diabetes is a controllable condition and show them the way for a healthier and happier life.

Our patients are grateful for the hope that they find as they lower their blood sugar levels through their participation in our program.  They feel they now have the energy to do anything. They have gained a better quality of life. Dr. Susana welcomes other patients and volunteers who would like to learn more about our program in order to make a difference in the health of others by assisting her in providing care.

If you want to be part of our program to make a difference, make sure to learn more about our volunteering opportunities. I will be happy for you to work with me. Together we can help our patients see the light. For me, the leading doctor of this program, it has been a blessing to help improve the lives of people with Diabetes. I believe that God is the one who is acting in the life of each person involved in this program. We are only his instruments.
