In 2017 Ms. Peggy and Dr. John Schorling began our diabetic program at Clinica Esperanza. Dr. Susana Galeas joined the team with 70 patients and the program has continued to grow.

We currently have over 900 diabetics participating from all over Roatan.  We are devoted to improving the quality of life for our patients with diabetes. Patients make their monthly visits for their consultation. This includes their medication, at no extra charge (thanks to the generosity of our donors).

They also receive educational talks on healthy eating, proper exercise and foot care. Our patients are grateful for the hope that they find as they lower their blood sugar levels and when they experience increased energy and overall health gained by following the guidelines of our program.

Dr. Susana welcomes other diabetic patients as well as medical volunteers who would like to learn more about our program in order to make a difference in the health of others and to assist in their care.
